You should try Diced Up! again.
I think the game just got an update so more upgrades are available. You can press the arrow keys to switch between them. The luck upgrade is the best because you get a lot more money and hearts dropped from the enemies, so buy that first. Insane mode is still hard with all the upgrades but I believe you can do it. If you are max upgraded and still fail just try again because you need to get lucky with the dice that decide how fast you attack. The game becomes a slashy slash game instead of an avoider game on the easier difficulties and you can use your sword as a shield.
